Generalized anxiety disorder symptoms are very similar to panic disorder. The good news is that GAD is easier to treat than panic disorder. There are also generalized anxiety disorder treatments that can be really effective.

- Impairment – if your worry keeps you from living a normal life, GAD may be a problem. Generalized anxiety disorder can sometimes keep you from being yourself in social situations. It may also hold you back at work.Any time anxiety stops you from doing everyday activities, that’s a sign that it’s time to see your doctor. Worrying is one thing, but it’s time to find a cure when it gets in the way of living a happy life.
- Physical Symptoms – there are a lot of physical symptoms that go along with generalized anxiety disorder. I thought I would group them all together to make it a bit more organized.
- Trouble sleeping
- Trouble concentrating
- Chronic stomach aches
I hesitated to put these symptoms on the list because they could be symptoms for so many things. Just because you have these, doesn’t necessarily mean you have GAD.
The bottom line is that diagnosing GAD isn’t really down to an exact science. It’s a term that can encompass a lot of different things. If you have constant worry and uncontrollable anxiety, see your doctor and let them decide for sure.
It’s important to get any generalized anxiety disorder symptoms checked out. Not treating GAD can cause panic attacks and panic disorder. The sooner you address the problem, the more likely it will be that you can cure it.
